Sunrise Boulevard serves as a key corridor for Rancho Cordova residents and auto-related businesses. Years of wear and overlay had left the roadway in poor condition, with median curbs nearly buried beneath asphalt buildup. McGuire and Hester’s work transformed the corridor—improving aesthetics, safety, and daily usability for commuters and local industries. Strategic lane closure planning reduced traffic disruptions and improved crew safety in a high-congestion area.
Throughout the project, the team stayed ahead of potential schedule delays by proactively addressing survey busts, re-sequencing storm drain installation to work around utility conflicts, and collaborating with suppliers to develop a custom CIR mix that could perform in cold spring temperatures. These solutions helped maintain progress under strict timeline constraints and demonstrated McGuire and Hester’s values of innovation, quality, and community-first thinking.
