Internships

McGuire and Hester believes that internships are an important part of a students overall educational experience. We offer internships throughout the year for students who major in Construction Management and Civil Engineering.

The goal of our internship program is to develop professional, career-related assignments that will build upon McGuire and Hester’s corporate objectives and the academic knowledge of the intern.

Our Program

Each intern is paired with two McGuire and Hester employees to make sure the experience is valuable. The first supervisor, who will work directly with the intern, sets objectives based on the intern’s level of education and background and evaluates the intern’s performance. The second, is the mentor who will serve as the intern’s advisor and friend within the company. We want our interns to develop a good understanding of who we are and what we do and to be able to perform the duties of an entry level Project Engineer so they can get a real feel for the type of work they will be doing after graduation. Internship assignments are made based on each interns individual learning needs.
