Cathedral Hill Hospital Temporary Power

The $2.5 billion Sutter Health California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Van Ness and Geary project is a flagship medical center for San Francisco. Our scope of work for this project consisted of installing site temporary and permanent utilities.

Description

In addition to power and communication, McGuire and Hester was the primary contractor installing domestic water and fire line water systems to the new hospital. New fire hydrant systems were installed as well as AWSS restraint modifications were performed. Coordination with SFWD and all other municipality departments were performed to facilitate system install.

Additionally, McGuire and Hester performed the installation of all site hardscape restoration, traffic control systems, traffic signal modifications, irrigation and landscape. A cut and cover pedestrian tunnel across Van Ness Avenue that connected the new hospital to the new medical office building across the street was also installed by our crews. Our team demolished the shoring system for the building and provided grind and overlay for all surrounding streets. The contract called for the installation of interior decorative topping slabs.
