SFO Hydrant System Repairs

The deficiencies slated for correction were diverse and included new isolation valve pits—strategically constructed to enhance the efficiency and resilience of the hydrant system; leak containment structure addressing, targeting and rectifying leaking containment structures to prevent potential hazards and ensure environmental compliance; innovative valve installations, which introduced advanced solutions such as installing butterfly valves under hydrant pits and replacing existing butterfly valves with the more secure and reliable Double Block and Bleed (DBB) valves; vault enhancements, which implemented essential improvements within existing valve vaults, including installing low point drains and high point vent risers for enhanced functionality; and pit repairs and flange replacement, undertaking the repair of damaged pits and systematically replacing corroded blind flanges with high point vents, reinforcing the structural integrity of the entire system.
