Desription
Selected large diameter pipelines that cross the fault were upgraded with new pipe that is better able to withstand a large fault offset. Higher grade steel and thicker pipe walls will help maintain the pipes’ pressure integrity.
Additionally, bypass manifolds were added to the pipes on each side of the fault. In the event of a pipe break, temporary bypass hoses can be deployed to bypass the break, and transmit water across the fault.
