John Muir Medical Center

Under contract with various contractors McGuire and Hester began working at John Muir Medical Center Walnut Creek during the winter of 2004 by constructing the 750-vehicle surface parking lot. Relocation of the heliport, mass excavation of the basement, site utilities installation and relocation for the six-story parking structure immediately followed that work. The third phase involved a complete remodel of the emergency department entrance and physicians’ parking lot including architectural concrete, underground utilities installation, and landscaping. The current state of construction includes 54,000 cubic yards of mass excavation, site utilities, architectural concrete, and landscaping for the six-story hospital expansion and central plant construction. Total value of work to date exceeds $14 million.
