Since joining McGuire and Hester in 1957, Joe has estimated and managed every type of construction project. His interest in construction began at age 12 when he drove a low-bed truck guided by the steady hand of a licensed employee. During his teens, Joe worked after school as an equipment operator at McGuire and Hester. He went on to study civil engineering and philosophy at Santa Clara University. After completing his military service, Joe rejoined our staff and served as dispatcher, foreman, estimator, superintendent and general superintendent before being named president in 1972. Promoted to Chairman in 1990, Joe oversees all major estimating projects at McGuire and Hester. He also dedicates himself to mentoring our new generation of construction professionals.
