Joseph
M.
Hester
Chairman
As Chairman Joe applies his wealth of construction experience on all
major estimating projects at McGuire and Hester. His involvement is invaluable in providing clients with a consistently high level of construction service. In the course of his 43-year career, Joe has managed virtually every conceivable type of project.
Joseph served as District Manager and Chairman for the Association of General Contractors and on the board of the Teamsters' Health and Welfare Trust for 15 years. Joe serves on the Board of Trustees for The McGuire and Hester Foundation.
Joseph's education includes studies in civil engineering, art and philosophy from Santa Clara University.
Michael

Hester
President
Michael Hester is a 15-year veteran of the construction industry with broad experience in all aspects of estimating and operations. Promoted to President in 1990, Mike is responsible for the overall business of McGuire and Hester, including its estimating and marketing activities.
Active in industry and community affairs, Mike is Past President of the Engineering & Utility Construction Association (EUCA), and board member for six years.
He is an active member of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce and serves on
the board of the Airport Area Business Association.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Oregon State University.
Robert

Executive Vice
President - Company Operations
Robert is in charge of all operating and corporate duties at McGuire and Hester. He is responsible for the implementation of a variety of corporate projects that enhance operational efficiencies for the Company. Robert's prior experience before joining McGuire and Hester in 1989, was five years with
a Big Five accounting firm.
His professional affiliations include: Engineering & Utility Construction Association (EUCA), of which
he is Past President, the San Francisco Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association
(CFMA) and the Alameda Chamber of Commerce. Robert serves on the Board of Trustee for the Operating Engineers Trust Funds and
the Board of Trustee for the McGuire and Hester Foundation.
Robert graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Brock

Operations
Manager - Underground Pipelines/Concrete Structures
Brock joined McGuire and Hester in 1988 as Project Engineer. Promoted to several new positions over the years, Brock has gained a broad experience in construction management. Promoted to Operations Manager in 1997, he is responsible for the Underground Pipeline and Concrete Structures division of the company. Prior to McGuire and Hester, Brock worked with the Merchant Marines as a Stevedore working for the Crowley Maritime Corporation.
Brock holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Resource Economics.
Mike Haley
Operations Manager -
Paving & Grading
Mike joined McGuire and Hester in 1976 as a laborer and has held the positions of Foreman, Superintendent, Resource Manager, and General Superintendent until now where he is responsible for the Paving and Grading division for the company.
Mike graduated from Saint Mary's College with a bachelor's degree in Business Management.
